Breakfast with Erin Hiemstra

“I totally abide by the cliche that breakfast is the most important meal of the day. When I actually take the time to fully enjoy it, it’s my favorite part of the day. I’ll go for weeks eating the same thing that seems to switch as the seasons do. I just switched from oatmeal to muesli with fresh fruit, honey and greek yogurt. Summers I often turn to fresh smoothies. But a good piece of toast and a fried egg never fails me. Regardless, when I make a point to enjoy a bit of quiet time in the morning, I feel happier, more clear-minded and calm over the course of my day.”
Erin Hiemstra is a new media strategist freelancer for small businesses and creatives.

Breakfast with Justina Blakeney

“I tend to wake up early–before the rest of my household wakes up (my husband and cat) and so breakfast-time is my quiet time. I become pensive and think about what I want to accomplish during my day. I wish the l’il Boomba in my belly a good morning. I have my earl grey tea with a teaspoon of twitter and a splash of a magazine to get connected and inspired. I take my prenatal vitamins with a little OJ, and then enjoy a later breakfast with the boys when they wake up. I feel fresh and alert in the mornings, grateful for the opportunity to enjoy another day.”
Justina Blakeney is a designer and consultant.

Daily Instant Project

This year, one of the projects I started is this Daily Instant Project – shoot one instant film a day to document my 2012. It’s nice to see how I spent my everyday with family and friends.
